Employee Benefits and Services - Essay Example The reason behind this is that he/she enters the country with an aim to attain financial stability through struggle and hard work . Therefore, they work hard to gain opportunities and occasionally become successfull eventually as a good entrepreneur. There has been a continuous debate on whether a Citizen or Non-Citizen should receive the same employee benefits working for the same organization or country (United States). One view point is that if a person who is not a citizen, but has been working in US legally, is entitled to Social Security Number and subsequently, he can receive benefits almost equivalent to a native US Citizen. This provision was passed on January 1, 2004 that a non-citizen can be granted SSN if he stays in the country and works legally. A non-citizen is also entitled to unemployment benefit if an organization terminates his contract without any valid reason and after he has received SSN. (U.S. Social Security

English Country House Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words

English Country House - Essay Example This essay discusses that people build English Country Houses for spending time in a country side, away from the chaos of city life and its hassles. However, making enormous investments on such mansions, and incurring hefty expenditures on their maintenance, also has a sociological purpose. Owing such houses elevates the social status of the investor and offers that person an aura of belonging to a certain class. The architectural splendour and lush landscapes, coupled with their historical significance make country houses the most popular asset in English society. People cherish such mansions as priced possessions also because of their value in terms of social and environmental aspects. Due to these characteristics, in people consider a country house as an ideal place for spending vacations and getting relaxation from the monotony of their daily routine. However, since the cost towards purchase and maintenance of such houses is exponential, only the highly rich and elite, or people in the higher echelons of power are able to afford such mansions. A large house or mansion having great architectural merit in English country side is commonly known as English Country House, and some people also mention it as stately home. The very purpose of the house is to spend time in a country area without any botheration of city life headaches and to enjoy life. The country houses are known for their architectural, historical, landscapes, social and environmental aspects. In fact a Country House is a spot where you can relax and spend your vacation. ... â€Å"As Mark Girouard points out in his anthology  A Country House Companion, there's a mythology surrounding English country houses that extols them as "magical places" and their owners as wise custodians who tend the land, look after their tenants and servants, devote their lives to public service, fill their galleries with beautiful pictures and their libraries with rare books, and are unfailingly hospitable to friends and guests† (Morrison, 2011). The decline of English Country Houses starts with the rise of taxation, agricultural depression, and financial shortfalls in maintaining such huge houses, and the vast area involved as well. Due to there issues, most of such historical houses have been transferred to private trust, national museums or local museums. Some of the houses are now running the show by giving it on rental for short period activities such as wedding, civil ceremonies, film shooting, and as corporate entertainment venue. The survival of such houses is in jeopardy. Ever since the inception of high rise buildings in cities, and the influx of villagers to cities, and the consequent demand for accommodation in big cities, public interest has been growing in exploring the social values of English country houses. The status they give to the owners, the lifestyle, and also the identity of such houses attracts public attention. With new trends in architectural style and interior designing, the grand old country houses had lagged behind in attracting customers or tourists until a few years ago. Recently there is a reverse trend in the public minds concerning the serenity, charm, prestige and splendor involved in owning a country house or in staying there. Though they are modeled on the 18th and 19th century architectural style, people have an eye on them.

If they need additional skills and knowledge to grow a particular species should be training or demonstration will be organized. Seeds or plants of the species considered easy. If asexual reproduction is necessary, farmers should receive training on how to do it. The seeds of Gliricidia sepium and Sesbania spp. For example, could not be readily available. Farmers need help with how to distribute the trees using root cuttings. They may not even enough time for the harvest of cuttings. Question 2 Role of trees or roots of fig trees is no different than any other plant. Edible fig (Ficus carica) roots, for example, grow best in fertile soil rich in organic matter that is moist but never soggy. Roots have four functions. Anchoring the plant fig s, absorbs water and nutrients for plant growth and flowering and fruiting activities, in the case of tropical fig trees, aerial roots hanging from the branches to improve weight distribution of the structure.Picture of the roots can grow to a diameter of branches to see above the ground. Fig trees do not grow the carrot-like tap roots, but the diffuse array, or weaving roots penetrated the body of at least two or three times as much as the diameter of the crown of the plant. Question 3 Carbon sequestration in the agriculture sector refers to the capacity of agriculture lands and forests to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is absorbed by trees, plants and crops through photosynthesis and stored as carbon in biomass in tree tru nks, branches, foliage and roots and soils. Forests and stable grasslands are referred to as carbon sinks because they can store large amounts of carbon in their vegetation and root systems for long periods of time. Soils are the largest terrestrial sink for carbon on the planet. The ability of agriculture lands to store or sequester carbon depends on several factors, including climate, soil type, type of crop or vegetation cover and management practices. The amount of carbon stored in soil organic matter is in?uenced by the addition of carbon from dead plant material and carbon losses from respiration, the decomposition process and both natural and human disturbance of the soil. By employing farming practices that involve minimal disturbance of the soil and encourage carbon sequestration, farmers may be able to slow or even reverse the loss of carbon from their ?elds. In the United States, forest and croplands currently sequester the equivalent of 12 percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions from the energy, transportation and industrial sectors. Question 4 Major reasons of the changes in the forested land due to human reasons include: industrialization, suburbanization, land trust movements and settlements and agriculture. Question 5 Pleistocene climate was characterized by repeated glacial cycles where continental glaciers pushed to the parallel 40 in some places. It is estimated that glacial

Command and Conquer: Generals Unit Tactics: GLA Unit Strategies

Command and Conquer: Generals Unit Tactics: GLA Unit Strategies Command and Conquer: Generals Unit Tactics: GLA Unit Strategies: The GLA or Global Liberation Army is known for its resourcefulness and shrewd tactics. Some of the armored vehicles including technicals and marauders have the ability to scavenge destroyed enemy vehicle and upgrade their firepower. One of the key important units to look out for is the scud launcher, bomb truck and the terrorist infantry unit. The truck can be very deceptive and can inflict serious damage on enemy structures. Learn more about GLA units and the strategies required to use them in this Command and Conquer: Generals tactics guide. Rebel: The rebel is the basic infantry unit of the GLA. It has the ability to capture buildings, which can be researched at the barracks. There are several additional abilities that can be upgraded. You can increase the damage by 25 percent if you research AP bullets at the black market. Whats more, you can also use their stealth ability against enemy infantry. All you have to do is research the camouflage upgrade at the Palace to have this ability. With the help of stealth, the GLA rebel units can ambush enemy units, particularly in areas that are left undefended. With stealth, you can use them to capture buildings and oil derricks silently. RPG Trooper: The RPG trooper is very handy unit against both land and air units, but can get killed by the Chinese Gatling tanks, American Humvees and infantry units. Use 5-6 units to destroy armored vehicles and aircraft easily. You can also put them inside GLA Technicals to inflict maximum damage. Just like the rebels, the RPG troopers fire power can be increased by 25 percent if upgraded to AP rockets at the black market. Terrorists: These are very dangerous when used against enemy tanks and missile launchers, but can easily fall prey to Gatling tanks, Humvees, pathfinders or foot infantry. Always disperse them and then detonate enemy units, do not use them in packs. In most skirmish maps, you will find vacant black-colored cars. Garrison them inside to create car bombs and drive inside enemy buildings and units to inflict maximum damage. But, remember that they can also cause damage to nearby GLA structures and units, so use them wisely. These are very resourceful and are the one of the best Command and Conquer Generals tactics for the GLA faction. Angry Mob: Angry mob are generally a group of specially created units that can cause maximum damage. They are generally created in groups. They can be unlocked after building the Palace. They have the most unique weapons including stones, Molotov cocktails and can be upgraded with firearms after researching arm the mob at the palace. While they are not the best of command and conquer: generals tactics to employ against USA pathfinders, Humvees and Chinese Gatling tanks, they can cause serious damage to tanks and enemy structures. Use at least 4-5 upgraded mobs against enemy buildings and vehicles. They can also be a great option for defending key GLA structures. Jarmen Kell: This unit is the perfect answer to USAs Colonel Burton. He has the abilities of the sniper and can denote buildings through his remote controlled bomb. You can use him to snipe infantry units as well as vehicle drivers and later steal them. But, his weakness is the slow reload time of his sniper rifle. You can easily eliminate Jarmen Kell with the help of your anti-stealth units. But, beware, he can hide inside buildings and take out all your infantry units. To make things difficult, the building does not change to the GLA team color, but once you locate him, you can force him to evacuate by throwing flash bang grenades. Hijacker: Hijackers are one of the most expensive units of the GLA faction, but can be tactically employed to inflict the maximum damage. They are mainly used to steal assault and general enemy vehicles. You can use them to capture enemy vehicles with the first level veteran status. You can also hijack enemy dozers, build their structures and units and create havoc on them with their own structures. to unlock the hijacker, you will have to build, palace, barracks and sped three general points. Quite a hard work to create this unique unit! GLA Armored Vehicles: Technical: Playing as GLA ensures you have excellent Command and Conquer: Generals tactics and strategies up on your sleeves. Most GLA vehicles are very resourceful. The technical is the best example of a cheap, resourceful yet destructive GLA vehicle. It can serve as an excellent vehicle transport for infantry, terrorists and hijackers. Put some of them inside and drop them on the enemy zone make your fight easier. A good example of its resourcefulness is its ability to upgrade its firepower by stealing scrap of destroyed enemy vehicles. Just run over the scraps of two destroyed vehicles and see its firepower change from machine gun to missile attacks. Scorpion: The scorpion may be the weakest armored vehicle of the GLA, but once it is upgraded with scorpion rockets, it can cause destruction to enemy vehicles and infantry. Scorpion upgrades are mainly available at the arms dealer structure, the palace and the black market. To upgrade its fire power to rockets research the scorpion rockets at the arms dealer, but if you want to upgrade it with deadly anthrax, then research toxin shells. This can inflict serious damage to the opponents infantry units. You can also enhance the damages by researching anthrax beta at the palace. When battling against enemy units, use at least 7-8 upgraded Scorpions to get excellent damage results. Marauder: The Marauder is one of prime GLA armored vehicles. With its increased range, accuracy and good armor the Marauder can cause great damage to your opponents vehicles and units. It has features similar to the scorpion. You can upgrade using scraps of enemy units and use it to fire anthrax weapons from its projectiles. Use at least 6-7 marauders along with other units while planning an attack on your opponents. The rest upgrades are similar to the Scorpion. Quad Cannon: The quad cannon can be used as a good defensive unit against light armored vehicles and infantry. But, it is very weak against heavy armored vehicles and air units. Always have a group 0f 5 or 6 quad cannons to take out any nuisance infantry units. You can increase its damage power by 25 percent by researching AP bullets at the black market. Rocket Buggy: Rocket Buggies are fast, accurate, but have slow reload times. Because they are fast-paced, they can easily hide beyond the reach of enemy units and come back strong. The best tactic is to use 3-4 rocket buggies to shoot and quickly hide them beyond the reach of enemy units. When it reloads, attack your opponents again. Using its speed and heavy fire power can be the perfect strategy against your opponents. Bomb Truck: Bomb trucks are extremely effective against a large group of enemy units. As the name suggests, bomb trucks are loaded with explosives and chemical weapons. You can employ multiple tactics with these expensive units. Use them silently to sneak inside enemy base and run over a cluster of vehicles. You can also use them to sneak into unguarded enemy structures. Scud Launcher: The scud launcher is GLAs artillery weapon that can fire scud missiles from a good distance. It has two types of fire power-anthrax warheads and explosives. When playing skirmish battles in Command and Conquer: Generals, use the scud launchers explosives against enemy structures and warheads on infantry and vehicles. Make sure your launchers are protected with RPG troopers and marauders as they are very vulnerable against enemy armors. Because they can bombard from a great distance, make sure you place them at strategic isolated areas near enemy base camp. Toxin Tractor: This unit spurts green toxins at enemy units and can be very effective against light infantry units. You can eliminate your opponents infantry garrisoned in civilian buildings. But, always support it with other units and make sure they are far off against heavy armor.

Legal Requirements for Obtaining a Search Warrant in the United States Search warrant is a request, in the name of the individuals, marked by a justice or other legal power, allowing an officer to search for specified particular property and carry it before the judge (Nova Scotia v. MacIntyre, 1982). The search warrant is a standout amongst the most capable and important devices in the law requirement. While the procedure of seeking and getting a search warrant ought to be ordinary to most officers, there are numerous specialized and lawful pitfalls that can discredit a search warrant, lead to the concealment of confirmation or rejection of cases and have obligation suggestions for incorporated officers (Holcomb, 2003). Therefore, it is the approach of this office that all officers have a sound learning of the legitimate necessities connected with acquiring a search warrant keeping in mind the end goal to anticipate concealment of evidence. Supporting the Constitutional privileges of subjects and to administer open trust in this organization's order to do the police work in a moral and lawful way. The Fourth Amendment protects the individuals from irrational searches and seizures, which implies that numerous searches are fine if they meet certain necessities. Searches are for the most part acknowledged rational when: a judge provides a search warrant depending upon possible reason; or ... ...e a sensible conviction that a perilous subordinate could be stowing away inside a living arrangement. A search warrant is not dependably lawfully important, and a cop may have data of which an individual is uninformed that permits a police to search a warrantless section. In the event that an officer publishes a plan to enter a home or building without a warrant, an individual ought not harm or a divide accuse of "meddling of a cop." Rather, the individual may as well stand still, let the officer continue and permit a court to decide later if the officer's activities were legitimate. In the meantime, individuals may as well make it apparent that they do not agree to the search.

Junot Diaz Treflection Essay

From what I had previously read and heard from about Junot Diaz, I expected the typical speaker that usually stops by our campus: tall male, dressed in a suite, with a charming personality. Knowing he was a Hispanic author I felt like I would be exposed to nothing new during his readings or presence for that matter ( seeing as how being from Colombia and have had a lot of exposure to Hispanic authors). This immediately changed as a couple classmates and I got together to walk over to Sorenson Hall, and, as I we were walking to the auditorium, found multiple students heading to the same even but not because their curriculum required it but rather because they were so intrigued to hear him speak. Obviously, this triggered my own interest in what this author, that I originally found so predictable, had to say. From the moment he set foot on the stage to when he said goodbye, I was intrigued. Diaz evoked a casual atmosphere; through cursing and joking he made the crowd feel comfortable. What I found most interesting was how he explained the different views between him and his family and how looked negatively it seemed for him to become an artist. He also explained multiple aspects about the cultural differences, and talked about the concepts of â€Å"trading your culture† he explained how crazy it is to realize at our age that everyone’s dreams aren’t your dreams. I agreed with everything he had to say and I found the way he evoked his opinions, through casual conversation and a comical tone, to be very effective. What I found most interesting though, is how he compared writing to an art form which says the stuff people don’t want to hear. As he was talking about this topic, I couldn’t help but compare his style of writing to that of graffiti art. He holds a rebellious attitude towards society that makes his writing appealing. Attending this reading taught me much about the topic of learning by making mistakes. My whole life, I’ve been raised thinking that mistakes shouldn’t occur, and the fact that he mentioned that one should take time out to learn through failure and making mistakes caught my attention immediately. Attending Diaz’s reading has been one of the most interesting things I’ve experience while at Babson and I know that when I type the last sentence of this reflection I am buying logging on to amazon and buying his book.

The eNotes Blog eNotes Student of Change Emily Thomas, The Social MediaDo-Gooder

Student of Change Emily Thomas, The Social MediaDo-Gooder At 24 years old having 61,000 followers on Twitter, people always ask me if there’s something profound I did to make that happen and my answer is always no. I just showed people that I cared. Emily Thomas In our new blog series, were interviewing students and recent graduates who have taken their studies and done something profound with them. Some are doing great work at home, while others have traveled to far off destinations to help communities in need. Whatever path theyve chosen, these inspirational Students of Change prove that being young and recently graduated are never hindrances to doing what you want to do. Take the subject of our first interview for example, Emily Thomas. Emily is 24 and just recently graduated from Seattle University. Her writing has been featured on Huffington Post and she’s currently involved with a number of PR projects, the biggest of which is #standwithme, a campaign for a documentary about the issue of child slavery. She’s a social media guru with upwards of 61,000 followers on Twitter. We at believe that she exemplifies the ideal eNoter through her upbeat attitude and never ending quest for knowledge. Read on for your daily dose of inspiration. You’re a self-proclaimed do-gooder, what does this mean to you and what led you to aspire to this identity? I got the phrase â€Å"do-gooder† from one of my favorite quotes by Minor Myers which is â€Å"go into the world and do well, but more importantly, go into the world and do good.† While being an established writer and successful social media strategist is important to me, I always remind myself that true success comes from two things: doing something that makes you happy and doing something that makes the world a better place than when you found it. The truth is that we aren’t going to live forever, but we have the ability to forever make the world a better place by choosing our actions wisely. Before I embark on any social media campaigns, I ask myself if it’s a project that I feel is going to make a difference in the world. What I have found from working on projects like #standwithme and Snap2Live is that my ability to use social media strategy helps companies tell their story in the best way possible through cyber space. I know that my efforts with these two projects are affecting more lives than just my own. You recently began working on the #standwithme campaign. Can you tell us a little bit about this campaign and the cause it supports? Back in December I was contacted by Patrick Moreau, one of the Founders of a film company called Stillmotion that is based in Portland. I had seen some of their work prior to #standwithme and was aware that the film company had won 4 Emmy’s for one of their more recent documentaries. Patrick contacted me via Twitter (of all places) and offered to send me a screener of the film, which completely blew me away. I was so moved by the story that I knew I had to be a part of it. #standwithme is a documentary film that is focused on raising awareness about child slavery. Today, there are currently 30 million people living their lives as slaves- a majority of them are children. The documentary tells the story of a 9-year-old little girl named Vivienne Harr who was so moved by a photo of two boys in slavery that she wanted to make a difference. Her goal was to free 500 kids from slavery in the only way she knew how- by selling lemonade. Over a year later she wound up raising $150,000 through her company Make-A-Stand by asking people to â€Å"pay what was in their hearts.† What is so powerful about #standwithme is that it shows people that it is possible for one person, like Vivienne, to make a difference by using their voice to stand up for those who don’t have one. Stillmotion hopes that #standwithme will inspire people to go out into the world and do what’s right and also be more aware of where they are buying their products from to ensur e that we can bring an end to child slavery. #standwithme The Official Trailer. from stillmotion on Vimeo. What are some of the most valuable things you’ve learned from your work on different social media platforms?   Some of the most valuable things I’ve learned may come as a surprise because they really are so simple. Social media is called â€Å"social† media for a reason- because it requires engagement from you to make something happen. As we move more and more into a more â€Å"social† business model, it is crucial for companies to show people that they care. At 24 years old having 61,000 followers on Twitter, people always ask me if there’s something profound I did to make that happen and my answer is always no. I just showed people that I cared, I interacted with people who tweeted me, I shared links and blog posts from writers that I admired which then in turn caused them to take an interest in me. I also learned how powerful it is to ask for what you want. I wish that all the people in the world have enough to eat today, and that theyre healthy. #standwithme - Emily Thomas (@emitoms) April 10, 2014 There were so many things I wanted to do but I was too afraid to ask for, but when I finally did I was surprised at my results. I asked for contact information from some of my favorite writers and asked them how they got to where they are today- something that has impacted my professional career greatly. How did you get your start as a writer? Did anyone in particular influence you? Writing is something that has always been a big part of my life. Before I started doing social media strategy as my career, I used to post Facebook updates daily that received a lot of positive feedback from my family and friends. It made me happy to know that I could use my thoughts and my words to make someone else’s day a little brighter. When I started using Twitter and having a bigger audience, I realized that through writing it was possible to make a difference in thousands of lives in a matter of minutes. Aside from my parents, I would say that I have had several people in my life that have had a big influence on the writer I am today. One of those people is my mentor, Sean Gardner, who makes his living doing what I do at a grander scale. He was the person that constantly pushed me to pursue bigger goals and to put myself out there in front of people so that I could be seen. There will never be enough words to thank him for what he has done for me. What advice can you give the students that use about pursuing their dreams? For college students looking to pursue their dreams there are many pieces of advice I could give that I probably don’t have room for. I would tell them to pursue what you love and to pursue what makes you happy because you only get to live your life once. As a Sociology major, I can’t even begin to count how many times people told me that I couldn’t do anything with my degree- that I wouldn’t have a job upon graduation and now here I am juggling 3 different jobs at the same time. I had a strong passion for what I wanted to do and I believed that I could make it possible. Though I am still a work in progress of course, all of the things that have fallen into my lap recently weren’t because I was lucky or because they came at the right time- it was because I worked hard for them every day. I would also encourage students to recognize that there is no such thing as a â€Å"self-made† man/woman and there is always going to be someone who helped y ou up along the way. Never be afraid to ask for guidance from people who have been to where you want to be and make sure you are surrounding yourself with people who believe in you and support your dreams. Where do you see yourself in five years? What long-term goals do you have set? In five years I hope to have my own consulting company. I love the work that I do and I am getting a lot of interest from different businesses that want me to help them tell their story through social media. An ultimate dream of mine is to write my first book- something meaningful that will change the way people think. One book that I’ve been really into lately is The Success Principles by Jack Canefield.  This book has taught me multiple things, like how to increase my confidence, how to tackle daily challenges, and how to live with passion and purpose. This book taught me how to fully embrace my ambitions and outlined a clear strategy about how to make them a reality. Definitely a must-read! What’s the best advice you’ve ever received from a professor or teacher? One of the best pieces of advice I have ever received from a professor was from Jodi O’Brien- a sociology professor at Seattle University. I remember my senior year I was overloading classes in my last quarter on top of being really involved on campus, which meant that I lost a lot of sleep. Although it seems simple, Jodi taught me the importance of taking care of my body and living a balanced life. She usually wasn’t pleased when I would show up to class the following day having spent all night working on a paper and told me that I should always take my health into consideration. Balance, I learned from her, is a key component to success and a happy life. If you could change one thing about the education system, what would it be? Why? One thing I would change about the education system is how much emphasis we put on getting good grades. While I think doing well in school is important- I graduated with a 3.4 and I’m doing just fine. I think it’s important that students really focus on â€Å"educating the whole person† by being involved on campus and not neglecting the things that make you excited. I would like to see more students be rewarded for their creativity, their passion, and their actions that are making a difference in the world. Looking back, what advice would you give your freshman self? One piece of advice I would give my freshman self is to not be afraid to be insanely passionate about the things you love OR to not be afraid to not enjoy what the majority enjoys. When I first got to college in Santa Barbara it was a big party scene- something that never really appealed to me and I felt bad about it. I thought something was wrong with me because it wasn’t something I enjoyed, but now looking back a realized that it’s ok to not enjoy those things and still be happy. I would tell myself to not be afraid to stand alone and stick my neck out and try new things- it’s so important! What’s your go-to music/soundtrack for homework or writing? I usually can’t listen to things with words because then I start singing along- so any Pandora station that has relaxing music for studying is my go-to. Check out Emily on Twitter @emitoms. Streamlining Social Media

Streamlining Social Media It’s a familiar song to many writers: to increase book sales you need to build an online platform that includes a website and social media accounts. But if you’re unfamiliar with the various social networks and their settings, the learning curve can be quite steep. Aside from hiring a social media manager, there are ways to streamline the process of posting fresh content, as well as monitoring activity relevant to your writing. Here are a few tips to get you started: 1. Add widgets and plugins to maximize social media. For self-hosted WordPress websites, add widgets to showcase your presence on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. Look for JetPack, an all-in-one plugin with social features. Know of a website that’s doing exactly what you want to do? Send them a message to find out what plugins they are using. 2. Use a dashboard service to monitor your accounts. In the same way a car’s dashboard tells you what’s happening with your vehicle, a social media dashboard tells you what’s happening across multiple social networks. HootSuite.com is one of the most popular dashboard services, as its free version allows users to import up to five social media accounts for monitoring and posting. Set up tabs for each social media account, then add streams for various content, such as Facebook Page posts, Twitter mentions, and more. You can even add a WordPress app to write and publish blog posts directly from HootSuite. 3. Take advantage of cross-posting. Once you’ve imported your social networks into HootSuite, you can post simultaneously across several social media accounts 4. Create Twitter lists based on your genre. Are you writing science fiction? Paranormal romance? Keep up with other writers in your genre 5. Monitor conversations using hashtags. Twitter popularized the hashtag, a search term/phrase preceded 6. Schedule posts and tweets in advance. Set aside 30 to 45 minutes a week to write content you can post across Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. Then copy and paste each post into HootSuite, select one or more networks to post from, and use the scheduling function to determine the day and time for each item to be posted. 7. Write and schedule evergreen promotional content. Rather than inundate your audience with â€Å"buy my book† posts and tweets, schedule your promotional posts to go out every 8-10 hours. Have several books for sale, or working on multiple projects? Mix it up: Devote weekdays to project posts and weekends to promoting your book.

Research Paper-Impact of climate change on ocean life Paper

-Impact of climate change on ocean life - Research Paper Example Climate change may generally be defined as the change in climate patterns due to high levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. There are various causes of climate change both natural and human. Some of the natural causes may include volcanic activity and solar output. Some human causes include fossil fuels burning and clearing of forests for agricultural purposes. A great percentage of climate change has been attributed to human activities mainly burning of fossil fuels which give rise to high carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Debates have been done in discussion of whether this is true and how these high levels can be reduced (CEICC & BLS & DE & LSNRC, 23). Climate change is seen to be highly contributed by human activities due to the growing industries. Technology has greatly improved leading to the rise of new industries that use fuels. The increase in population can also be said to be a contributing factor in that forests are destroyed and land left bare to build homes and stay and also grow crops for subsistence and commercial purposes. It does not only affect what we see on the surface but also affects the creatures that live in the ocean including fish and other animals. Water bodies around the world have also been affected by climate change. Many of these water bodies are used for providing drinking water for both people and animals and the water is also used in industries and agriculture. This enables people to live a healthy life, have food and run businesses with the availability of electricity. The effects of climate change on these water bodies will have severe consequences which are already being experienced. Some of these effects include an increase in drought and floods causing people to be displaced. It also leads to less fresh water causing a reduction in the food produced and the revenue from agriculture (CEICC et al, 23). â€Å"Forty years of research have documented strong responses (pg 22)†. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CRIMES RATES AND GUN OWNERSHIP IN SAUDI Research Paper

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CRIMES RATES AND GUN OWNERSHIP IN SAUDI ARABIA - Research Paper Example udi Arabia is the reserves of Oil that the country possesses in a huge quantity, being the world’s second largest country in terms of reserves of oil. Saudi Arabia is a country that does not have a separate code of law because it follows the Islamic Shariah laws which are the strict code of conduct being followed in the country. Saudi Arab basically lies in a desert zone, covering about 80% of the Arabian Peninsula (Abir 1993) The culture of Saudi Arabia is strictly Islamic where there is a large majority of Muslims. Everyone is bound to pray 5 times a day, even forcefully if found on streets near mosques not praying. Non Islamic practices such as consumption of Alcohol are strictly forbidden and it is compulsory for women to wear ‘burqa/hijaab’ while they are not at homes. It is a regular practice for men to marry multiple times, more than twice and men are generally more dominant in Saudi Arabia. Capital punishment in Saudi Arabia is frequently observed and a few years back from now, it was quite famous that during prayer times, when all the shops in streets are open while people say their prayers, nobody dares to get involved in theft. In recent years however, the crime rate has increased in the country, the reasons for which will be observed later. Punishments such as amputation, beheading, lashing and death are imposed by courts of Saudi Arabia depending on crimes including murder, theft , rape, robbery or adultery. Saudi Arabia faces many social issues such as corruption, unemployment and extremism. The confusion lies in the fact that Saudi Arabia wants to become a modern country but does not want to leave its traditional Islamic culture and practices at the same time. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is also accused of financing terrorist operations throughout the world in the name of Jihad (Sacrifice for saving Islam and for God). Moreover, the National Society for Human Rights which is a human rights organization operating in and funded by Saudi Arabia
